Iowa requires individuals who are charged with OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) or DUI (Driving Under the Influence) in Iowa, or Iowa drivers who are charged in another state, to complete a course for drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Iowa uses the Prime for Life 12-hour curriculum which meets the course requirements. This class is designed to help each person understand and accept the need to make necessary changes to reduce the risk for future problems.

The class meets state requirements under sections 321J.2 and 321J.17, Subsection 2 of the Iowa Code.

A separate class in Marshalltown may be available for those that speak Spanish. You may also bring someone with you to interpret for you.
