The Basic Electrical Certification program prepares you with the basic knowledge and skills needed to work in advanced manufacturing. You will learn how to operate, program, test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. You will gain hands-on training with our instructors and equipment. Courses include First Aid CPR AED certification, Industrial Safety and 10 hour OSHA (card included), Shop Mathematics, Introduction to Electronics, AC/DC Motors and Controls, Machine Trade Print Reading, and Technical Writing and Communication.

The AC/DC Motors and Controls course will demonstrate to students the fundamental concepts in single and multiphase alternating current. Learn the principles of control circuits in industrial equipment using Allen Bradley SLC 500.  Course includes: PLC hardware, software, PLC trouble-shooting, wire PLC inputs and outputs, create ladder logic programs, interpret ladder diagrams, identify and describe logic symbols, troubleshoot circuits using ladder logic and program PLC's. Curriculum will be accessed online via internet - students must have access to internet.  Students will meet with instructor in Industrial Maintenance Lab  for hands-on equipment sessions.  Registration deadline August 20th.
