The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training Course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to meet the 40-hour training requirement set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®). This training serves as a foundational step toward earning your RBT credential and preparing for the required Initial Competency Assessment with a qualified supervisor.

Throughout this course, you will build a strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and its application across a variety of settings. As an RBT, you may pursue career opportunities in education, behavioral and mental health services, developmental disability support, healthcare, and other growing human-services fields.

Under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®), you will receive feedback on course activities designed to strengthen your ability to support behavior change programs effectively and ethically. Key learning components include:

  • Understanding the functions of behavior
  • Using motivators and reinforcers appropriately
  • Conducting preference assessments
  • Implementing behavioral intervention plans
  • Recording, preparing, and managing ABA data
  • Following ethical guidelines and professional standards
  • Applying crisis-prevention protocols
  • Increasing or decreasing target behaviors using evidence-based strategies

By the end of this course, you will be well-prepared for the next steps toward RBT certification and ready to support individuals through compassionate, data-informed behavioral intervention.
