The 2026 Nurse Aide Instructor Update: "Better Leaders = Better Lives"
Molly J. Mackey is an author, speaker and trainer of leaders. She believes that by intentionally intersecting the ongoing journeys of leadership and learning we can create better leaders and Better Leaders = Better Lives ™
Molly has over 20 years of business and speaking experience. She has a passion for business, strategy, leadership and learning.
She is the founder and chief learning officer of the LEAdeRNship Institute. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Certified Professional of Talent Development (CPTD) from the Association of Talent Development. In late 2023 and early 2024 Molly gained Artificial Intelligence (AI) certifications from LinkedIn Learning and IBM.
Molly works with teams all over the United States to improve leadership skills and increase team performance.
Audience: Nurse Aide classroom and clinical instructors, supervisors, evaluators, and community college coordinators. Also open to long-term and other health care staff responsible for supervision, orientation, and staff development.
Certified Nurse Aide instructors will:
Hear about updates from Linda Kellen, RN, MSAS, Bureau Chief, Health and Safety Division, Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing. She will cover NATCEP updates and a broad overview on deficient practice trends in long-term care facilities. Iowa Valley Community College, Digital Media Faculty, Jocelyn Frohwein will be providing tips and tricks to using AI. After completion of breakout sessions, you will:
- Experience Their World-Change Yours Forever: Dementia Live is an immersive, high-impact simulation that helps care teams experience the sensory and cognitive challenges faced by people living with dementia.
- How to engage in the classroom/top 10 training pitfalls
- How to use AI in the classroom
- Understand the role of Medication Managers vs Medication Aides
7.0 Contact Hours (based on a 60-minute hour) are provided through Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions. Please note that as of 6/4/25, changes to the Board of Nursing Continuing Education have taken effect. All attendees will need to retain their documents for license renewal to verify completion of required continuing education. Licensees will need to choose offerings for license renewal that meet appropriate subject matter found in Iowa Administrative Code 655, Chapter 5.2(3). 100% attendance is required for Contact Hour credit, no partial credit given.
